The Phenomenology of Religion of P. D. Chantepie de la Saussaye and C.P. Tiele: from Theology to Religious Studies

Abstract

The article attempts to make a comparative theological analysis of the doctrine of the creation of man in two world religions. The results of this work in the future can be used for dialogue with Muslims and their enlightenment. The relevance of the chosen topic is undoubted, since the confrontation between the Muslim and Christian world is growing, and scientific work, which can even to a small extent establish dialogue and mutual understanding, is extremely in demand. The novelty of this work lies in the fact that there are very few serious theological works with a systemic comparative analysis of anthropological concepts. This article will mainly use the text of the Koran, which is revered by adherents of all Muslim directions and serves as the basis of Muslim legislation, both religious and civil, to represent Islamic dogma. Of the different Islamic sects, the A. concentrates on the creeds of the Sunni and Shiite persuasion, since it is their supporters in our time that are the most numerous, and the tradition of these communities is the most ancient and authoritative.
