The reader is offered a treatise of a monk of the Studite Monastery St. Nicetas Stethatus (XI century) “Against the Jews”, for the first time translated into Russian. Among the various ascetic, theological and polemic works of the author, this treatise is a characteristic monument of anti-Judean polemics. The work reflects both the theological and ascetic thoughts of the author, who polemised on the side of the prevalent attitudes of the Studite monastery ascetic school and his spiritual father and teacher st. Simeon the New Theologian. One of the thoughts of the treatise is that knowledge of the Trinitarian God may be attained through the knowledge of the three-part nature of the inner world of man - reflects the general attitude of the Byzantines: in order to prove theological truths, turn to the inner structure of the human soul.
