Abstract

The article is devoted to the description and analysis of methodological approaches of one of the key directions of modern narratology, narrative hermeneutics, as well as the assessment of the possibility and productivity of using its principles and conceptual and terminological system in the context of Orthodox biblical scholarship. This section examines those trends in the field of humanitarian thought in the second half of the 20th century that resulted in the rehabilitation of narrative. It is noted that these processes took place both in creative and theoretical discourse. Special attention is paid to the analysis of those provisions of narrative hermeneutics that seem to be the most significant for their use in the context of biblical studies. The key principles of narrative hermeneutics are examined from epistemological, ontological, and ethical perspectives.
