Abstract

The interpretation of the famous British biblical scholar Charles Cranfield on the Epistle to the Romans was first published in 1975 in the International Critical Commentary (ICC) series. N. T. Wright called this volume of the ICC "the best work on the Epistle to the Romans that has appeared in this century," and F. F. Bruce believed, that he "fully deserves to take a place next to the truly great commentaries on the Epistle to the Romans." However, the two-volume explanatory work was quite expensive, and the detailed exegesis of the Greek text made it difficult for the untrained reader to read.
