The Sermon and the Preacher

Abstract

It is generally recognised that preaching is an essential duty of a shepherd and forms part of the divine service. Who does not know many passages (texts) in Scripture that exhort, order, encourage, and dispose him to preach God's word. The task of this article is to reveal some peculiarities both in the very nature of preaching, so to speak, and in its modern formulation in the Orthodox Church, with the pious aim of contributing to its improvement.
