Abstract

In connection with the transformation of the Orthodox Theological Institute into the Moscow Theological Academy, the question naturally arose of the renewal of the publication of the academic journal Theological Herald. Deriving from historical continuity, the need for this publication is confirmed by the high position of the revived Academy in the Orthodox world, in which it is almost the only breeding ground for higher theological education. And the glorious past of the Moscow Academy, which has brought up a whole number of eminent figures of the Church and theological science, in the presence of the great attraction of the foreign Orthodox Churches to the Russian Church, assigns to the Academy the high mission of being a centre of theological thought of world Orthodoxy.
