Fr Vladimir (Kucheriavy) (5 June, 1940 — 8 January, 2010)

Abstract

On 8 January 2010, the feast day of the Cathedral of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Archimandrite Vladimir (Kucheryaviy), long-time lecturer, pro-rector, head of the library and dean of the Church of the Protecting Veil, passed away.
Despite the fact that since September 2000 Archimandrite (then Archpriest) Vladimir Kucheryaviy was no longer a member of the teaching staff of the Academy, many faculty, staff and students knew Fr. Many teachers, staff and students knew Vladimir as rector of Assumption (St. Nicholas) Church in Sergiev Posad, and later as an inhabitant of St. Nicholas Monastery in Yaroslavl Diocese. Archimandrite Vladimir left a memorable mark in the history of the Academy and in the memory of his students and colleagues. All his strength and God-given talents this good pastor gave to his native school, within the walls of which he served for more than 35 years.
