The Penultimate 1909/10 Academic Year of the Moscow Theological Academy Professor А. D. Belyaev: an Abstract of Lectures on Dogmatics for the Academy 4th Year Students
A publication by the 2nd year students of the Biblical Department at the Moscow Theological Academy
Abstract
Prof. Alexander Dmitrievich Belyaev (July 23, 1849 - February 2, 1920) became a privat-docent of the Department of Dogmatic Theology of MDA upon the graduation from the Academy in 1876, taking the place of the deceased rector Rev. V. Gorsky. His penultimate year of teaching was 1909/10, shortly after which he retired. The long years when he was teaching at MDA (1876-1911) were the heyday of Russian dogmatic theology. At the beginning of his career in this field he had already published the classic works of Archim. Macarius (Bulgakov) and Archbishop Filaret (Gumilevsky) had already been published. During the years of his teaching the large-scale dogmatic systems of Bishop Sylvester (Malevansky) and Archpriest N. Malinovsky were published.
