Abstract

In those years, as the bloody First World War was breaking out on the battlefields and general mobilisation was underway in Europe, Moscow unexpectedly heard calls to mobilise Russia's intellectual and spiritual forces to fight what the proponents of these calls considered foreign, alien and harmful, in two fields: philosophy and theology.
