Abstract

In 1685 - 325 years ago - the Slavonic-Greek-Latin Academy was founded. More than three centuries separate us from the creation of Russia's first higher spiritual educational institution. Over these years the Academy has experienced periods of prosperity and decline, influences from East and West, moves from Moscow to Trinity-Sergius Lavra and back, closure and a new birth in anguish and anxious hopes for the future.
