The 48th issue of the scholarly theological journal Theological Bulletin, the first for 2023, contains 16 articles on a wide variety of topics.   biblical studies, natural science apologetics, theology and philosophy, comparative theology, patrology and Christian literature, history of the Russian Orthodox Church, liturgics, homiletics, source studies and religious studies.   In this issue:   Priest Alexei Bashkatov in his article "Assessing Bart Ehrman's Assertion on the Duration of the Oral Gospel Tradition: parsing the Arguments of the Cultural Background of the Greco-Roman World" examines American biblical scholar Bart Ehrman's assertions about the length of time between the earthly life of Jesus Christ and the time of the writing of the canonical Gospels. The article begins with an overview of the views of scholars who have addressed the question of the existence of a long period of oral transmission of Gospel traditions. Next, the views of scholars who oppose the existence of an oral period prior to the writing of the Gospels are presented. The arguments that arise when the cultural background of the Greco-Roman world is addressed are then evaluated. As a result of analysing the cultural background of the Greco-Roman world in the light of the question of the origin of the canonical Gospels, the unreasonableness of Bart Ehrman's position on the duration of the oral transmission of Gospel material is shown.   Alexander Aleksandrovich Solonchenko offers his article "The Eschatological Concept of G. W. von Balthasar: Trinitarian Aspect". The article explores the trinitarian aspect of the eschatological concept.
