Aims and purposes
The mission of the journal "Theological Herald" - to promote cooperation between Russian and international scientific community in order to the widest possible spread and development of theological science.
The editorial policy of the journal is focused on the publication of research on various topics of theological science, as well as translations from original languages of sacred texts and works of church writers (from Ancient Greek, Latin, Syriac and other Eastern languages). Reviews, reviews, bibliographical descriptions, chronicles of scholarly events, and surveys of contemporary publications on Christian theology are also welcome. The journal welcomes interdisciplinary research and scholarly discussions on topical issues of theological scholarship.
The aims of the journal are:
- cultural-educational, cognitive and educational orientation of the materials published;
- to assert universal values, economic and cultural progress in the public consciousness;
- publication of original theological and historical-philological research, based on a thorough analysis of sources, using classical and new methodological approaches
- introducing a wide range of researchers to current trends and achievements in theological science;
- promoting the integration of Russian theological science into the international scientific space;
- cherishing and critical use of works and knowledge gained by theologians and philologists of the past, both domestic and foreign.
The main objectives of the journal are:
- Reflection of the main results of research and scientific-practical activities of specialists in the humanities fields envisaged by the journal's subjects;
- To promote the main achievements in the fields of theological science developed by the Moscow Theological Academy;
- revealing scientific potential for the implementation of current achievements of theological science in the educational process of the Moscow Theological Academy;
- forming an academic community united by the themes of the journal;
The uniqueness of "Theological Herald" is that in each issue of the journal thematic blocks are formed on a number of areas of theological science: biblical studies, patrology, Eastern Christian literature, history of the Church, hagiography, ascetics, religious philosophy, moral theology, canon law, liturgics, comparative theology, church art.
In addition to professors and researchers from the Moscow Theological Academy, the journal publishes articles by scholars from leading Russian and foreign institutions of higher learning and other educational institutions.
