The article examines the image of Bishop Charles Myriel Bievenu in Victor Hugo’s novel «Les Misérables». The description of the life path and qualities of the protagonist of the novel «Les Misérables» helps to understand how divine providence influences the life of Bishop Charles Myriel and other characters of the novel.
