Review by: David I. Starling. Reading Ephesians and Colossians: A Literary and Theological Commentary

Abstract

The work under review is titled “Reading the Epistles to the Ephesians and Colossians: A Literary and Theological Commentary.” The books in the second series of “Reading the New Testament” published by Smith & Helwys are written for a fairly broad audience and therefore “take into account not only lexical, historical, and critical aspects, but are also devoted... to literary issues and theology” (p. xi). David Starling is the Vice—Rector for Academic Affairs at Morling College (Australia), where he teaches New Testament, Hermeneutics, Greek, and theology. Starling has published many scientific works on the subject of the Epistles of St. Paul, and the breadth of his scientific interests allows him to give a good commentary on the letters of the apostle of the Gentiles under consideration.
