Abstract

In 2016, for the first time in the history of Christianity, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with the Pope Francis, following which a Joint
The statement was adopted (the "Havana Declaration"). The main reason for this meeting was the unprecedented discrimination of Christians in the world. According to international organizations, a Christian is killed every five minutes in the world. Per day — about three
hundred people, more than 100 thousand per year. Today, Christians have been subjected to such persecutions as have never been before. One and a half million Christians lived in Iraq — there are 150 thousand left-the ball; in Syria, out of two million Christians, 500 thousand remain. There are practically no Christians left in Libya. Christians are being killed in Nigeria, whole villages are being killed. The same thing is happening in Pakistan, in Afghanistan, and at the same time Christians do not receive any protection.
