Abstract

One of the main problems of the modern canon law is the lack of accurately elaborated criteria of relevance of church canons because of the circumstances which considerably changed in comparison with time of their edition. In article the history of formation of the initial building of Orthodox Church and value of canons as criterion of the church legislation and fundamental basis of church sense of justice is traced.
