Contemporary Problems of the Life of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Tajikistan on the Example of the Diocese of Dushanbe and Tajikistan

In the modern world, the issue of the life of religious minorities in certain countries is relevant. The problem of their normal life and functioning tends to depend on many factors, both direct and indirect. Today, for example, there are cases of direct discrimination against Christians in the Middle East. However, it should be noted that the Constitution of most States where such discrimination occurs, although it establishes Islam as a State religion, guarantees freedom of religion. The religious situation in Central Asia is fundamentally different. The purpose of this article is to review the legal norms regarding freedom of conscience and religion in the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as to identify the main problems related to the situation of the Russian Orthodox Church in the region on the example of the Dushanbe and Tajikistan dioceses.
