Canonical Norms of the Orthodox Church in Relation to Non-Orthodox Christians and Their Application Today

Abstract

The theme of church unity has long been one of the most pressing problems that are present in the earthly existence of the Church of Christ. At present, this problem remains urgent, since there are still no strictly established norms that would serve as a guide in determining the boundaries of dialogue with non-Orthodox Christians. The purpose of this article is to determine the norms of relations between the Orthodox Church and non – Orthodox Christians on the basis of church legislative acts, as well as to attempt to consider them from the point of view of the modern historical context.
