This essay presents the history of the study of the works of St. Symeon the New Theologian in Western historiography, starting from the XVIII century to the present day. The author gives the main stages of the study of the heritage of St. Symeon, characterizes modern approaches to the assessment of his theology, and also complements the "Annotated bibliography of Hesychasm" in the part concerning Symeon the New Theologian, paying special attention to the corpus of "Moral Sermons".
