Abstract

The article describes the Commentary on the Epistle to the Ephesians by Ambrosiaster, a famous Latin writer of the end of the 4th century. Although the identity of this author remains mysterious, his works often attract the attention of modern foreign researchers and can be useful for the Russian reader. This study describes the features of the author’s use of words in the Commentary, the question of dating the work based on internal textual evidence, the manuscript tradition of the document and features of the biblical text commented by the Ambrosiaster.
