About the Journal

"Metaphrast" is an academic journal of the Moscow Theological Academy. The journal is produced by the Philology Department of the Moscow Theological Academy (Greek Christian Literature). It publishes the studies of teachers, postgraduates and doctoral students specializing in Classical Philology (Ancient Greek, Latin and Eastern languages), the history of Greek and Latin Christian literature, and the traditions of the Christian East. The journal pays special attention to the publication of monuments of ancient and medieval Christian writing in new or edited old translations into modern Russian.
