Stephen Hawking's (1942–2018) cosmological concept is of particular interest to theologians because it addresses fundamental questions about the origin and structure of the universe. In fact, in developing his concept, Hawking in a sense goes beyond strict science and addresses issues lying in the realm of philosophy and religion. Of course, he does not dare to make statements of religious-philosophical character, as the vector of his thoughts runs exclusively in the vein of theoretical physics. But as it is known the boundaries of theoretical physics are very conditional, and to a certain extent it is not easy to trace where the field of theoretical physics ends and the field of philosophy begins. Hawking in most cases raises questions which obviously should be solved within the framework of religious worldview. In this connection it is very interesting to analyze from the theological point of view those ideas of Hawking, which are a consequence of his scientific research and which became an integral part of his quantum cosmological concept.
