This article presents the doctrine of repentance and keeping the commandments in the knowledge of God of the 20th century ascetic of piety, Archimandrite Sophrony (Sakharov). How is the feat of repentance and keeping the commandments and how does it bring a person closer to God and to people? Having studied the works of Archimandrite Sophrony and monographs of researchers of the elder's heritage, an answer to this question was obtained, which is presented in the article. For the elder these feats are important, first of all, because they bring the ascetic to the life of the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. The Christian becomes able to lead a life of personal unity both with God and with people.Downloads
