Abstract

The article deals with the main problems in the approach to hapax legomena analysis. Hapax legomena words are important within the problem of identification of the personal style in written texts because the presence of these words indicates particularities in the author’s way of expressing thoughts. Some scholars interpreted the results of the statistical analysis in a specific manner which can hardly, if at all, be regarded as scientific. The aim of the article is to describe general mistakes committed by them. The author hopes the article will be of much interest to those who pay attention to the problem of author’s style and the problem of attribution of biblical texts.
