Abstract

The Christian heritage of the Balkan region is of crucial importance for the study of the history of the Russian Orthodox Church and other Slavic Churches, because in this territory the Slavic tradition came into contact with the Byzantine one. It was here that the corpus of Slavic translations of the Holy Scriptures and the complex of Slavic translations of liturgical texts that were used in the church organizations of medieval Slavic states were created and repeatedly edited.
