Abstract

The article is devoted to the biblical eschatology. In the intertestamental apocalyptic literature the life of the world is divided commonly into two halves, or into two ages: «this age», «the coming age». For 4 Ezra the concept of «two ages» is in the mainline. The article considers the allegorical arrangement in 4 Ezra of the mentioned eschatological theme according to the of the story of Jacob and Esau. There is marked the historiosophical tradition of interpretation 4 Ezra 6, 7-10.
