We are pleased to welcome you to the pages of the first issue of our journal, which will be devoted to biblical studies. The name of the journal comes from the Greek word σχόλιον, small comments in the margins or between the lines of a manuscript. Scholia is the oldest form of commentary on texts and is intended primarily to clarify difficult passages.
