The article aims to reveal the significance of the activities of Metropolitan Leonty (Turkevich) for the organization of Russian church emigration in North America in 1900–1960. Using publications in Russian and English, his biography and works are described. The works of Metropolitan Leonty were extremely important for the organization of the Orthodox Church in America, the development of education, enlightenment and parish life on the American continent.
